Amy Carmichael

“Amy Carmichael is my Hero!” says a blogging group who keep their journals (blogs) on the Internet. Why are they amazed at this Irish missionary who lived from 1867 to 1951? After all, she is the same rowdy Amy often in trouble as ringleader, following through on her bright but mischievous ideas. Which of Amy’s qualities do they admire so much?

African Unreached

There are very few times in my life that I feel like I have jumped into the Bible and begun to act it out, but meeting Anna was like that. First of all, we went to visit her at her house. Anna was at a prayer meeting and the children did not know where the meeting was.

In the south of France, the high Alps come down out of Switzerland and throw themselves into the Mediterranean sea. Every year hundreds of thousands of tourists pass through these mountains to ski in the winter and hike in the summer. Often the world famous bicycle race, Le Tour de France, passes through this region. It is a severe test of will and strength to peddle to the top of these hills. Trinidad – Fishing for People

Sometimes people say, “The days of miracles are over.” But my life has been full of miracles!
The miracle of my birth: I was born in India to a Christian family of 13. At the hospital the doctors told my mother, “We have done our best. Only God can save your life.” My mother answered, “I told Jesus that if He saves my life I will dedicate this child to be a missionary.” The Lord heard her prayer; she lived and so did I. Today I am a missionary because of her prayers and tears.
